About the Role
As an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor you will support commercial administration and reporting on one large project or several smaller schemes, working closely with your line manager. You will be expected to work at the advertised location and may travel to other sites, which could involve staying away from home. • Participate in creating a safe working environment • Use Oracle software tools for accurate cost and value reporting • Assist in interpreting and evaluating internal expenditure reports • Support procurement of subcontractors, preparing bid documents and evaluating bids • Draft subcontract documentation • Apply ‘Doing the right thing’ principles to maximise value and profit • Administer subcontract work packages, including interim assessments and change management • Produce and issue commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as required by contract and law • Manage change in line with contract terms, preparing Compensation Event Quotations and maintaining value schedules • Provide information for monthly client payment applications • Liaise with operational and engineering staff to maintain site records • Collate and calculate data for detailed cost‑to‑complete and subcontractor liability schedules
