About the Role

You will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of fire alarm system installations, upgrades, and maintenance projects valued between £3m and £6m, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and fully compliant with fire safety codes and regulations. Key responsibilities include developing comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets; coordinating with clients, contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodies; monitoring progress, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions; reviewing designs for code compliance; overseeing installation quality, testing, and commissioning; managing integration with HVAC, security, and building automation systems; serving as the primary client contact; and maintaining thorough project documentation. • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for fire alarm system projects. • Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, and regulatory authorities. • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions. • Review fire alarm system designs for compliance with local fire and building codes. • Oversee installation quality and conduct system testing and commissioning. • Manage integration with HVAC, security, and building automation systems. • Serve as primary client contact for communications and updates. • Coordinate internal teams including sales, engineering, design, and installation. • Ensure all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications. • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control reviews. • Maintain project documentation such as as‑built drawings, testing reports, and compliance certificates. • Deliver fire protection system projects up to £6m with proven experience.

What You Bring

The role requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred), proven experience managing fire protection projects up to £6m, and preferably a project management qualification such as PRINCE. Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, detection technologies, local fire and building codes, and manufacturers' products is essential, along with excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
