About the Role
The Area Manager will maintain a culture of safety and continuous improvement, lead the operations team to meet sales commitments and work orders, and partner with sales to execute a strategic growth plan aligned with revenue and EBIT targets. They are accountable for technician productivity, order completion, digital asset integration and customer retention, while fostering client relationships through credibility and product knowledge. Additional duties include representing the company at industry events, collaborating with internal teams to meet customer expectations, forecasting and monitoring financial performance, ensuring on‑time delivery, meeting operational sales targets, and overseeing Daily Management Board meetings and KPI monitoring across the market. • Grow market share in the Mountain West by developing new commercial HVAC business. • Lead operations team to execute sales commitments, work orders, and safety initiatives. • Partner with sales to create and implement a strategic growth plan targeting revenue and EBIT goals. • Drive technician productivity, order completion, digital asset integration, and customer retention. • Represent Carrier at industry organizations, trade shows, and events to promote products and services. • Collaborate with internal teams to align with customer needs and expectations. • Forecast, monitor, and report financial performance against plan. • Ensure on‑time delivery and customer satisfaction while meeting operational sales targets. • Conduct Daily Management Board meetings, monitor core KPIs, and drive corrective actions. • Enforce schedule and optimization best practices across all markets in the area.

Carrier Commercial Services is hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC Area Manager for the Mountain West region. The manager will grow market share for Carrier Commercial Services by developing new business in partnership with the sales organization, covering repair service, maintenance contracts and modernization projects. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with a deep understanding of the technical sales process and operations management. A bachelor’s degree or seven years of HVAC operations leadership experience is required, along with eight or more years of sales, operations or leadership experience. Candidates must demonstrate strong business acumen, knowledge of financial and accounting principles, and a solid service‑operations background. Preferred candidates have five or more years in HVAC operations leadership, deep expertise with Microsoft Office, Salesforce and SAP, and a customer‑centric mindset. They excel at balancing multiple priorities, building cross‑industry relationships, communicating effectively, and possess intimate knowledge of HVAC or building technologies within a large matrixed organization. • Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years HVAC operations leadership experience. • 8+ years of sales, operations, or leadership experience. • 5+ years HVAC operations leadership (preferred) and strong Microsoft Office, Salesforce, SAP skills. • Customer‑centric mindset with excellent oral and written communication. • Understanding of financial and accounting principles and strong service‑operations background. • Ability to build relationships across industries and functions in a large matrixed organization.
