• Install and remove overhead and underground conductors; rig for crane operations. • Operate commercial vehicles, helicopters, ATVs, and snowcats in line construction. • Use hand and power tools safely; work with ropes and knots; comply with DOT regulations. • Maintain high safety standards, communicate effectively, and respond to after‑hours call‑outs.

What You Bring
The Groundman 1st Year position will be based in Denver, Colorado, and involves working on electric transmission line circuits, including setting and removing poles, towers, and conductors. The role requires occasional out‑of‑town travel across Xcel Energy Colorado territories and offers hands‑on experience with a variety of construction equipment and specialized tools. • Hold a high school diploma or GED, Class A CDL, and pass the EEI CAST test; demonstrate strong mechanical ability and physical fitness.

-receive email invitation to take the eei construction and skilled trades (cast) test. -sign up for the test using the link provided in the invitation email. -receive a confirmation email after signing up for the test. -prepare for the test using the study information sent with the invitation. -test results are emailed within two weeks of completion. -successful candidates' applications are forwarded to the hiring leader for review.
