About the Role

The Critical Environments Maintenance Technician will focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area—Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations—and be multi‑skilled in others to complete daily and weekly assignments. The role works a day shift from Friday to Monday. Day‑to‑day duties include maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure 100% uptime of building systems such as fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, chillers, CRAC, CRAH, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, switchgear, transformers), and hot‑water systems. The technician records readings, makes adjustments, and ensures proper operation of refrigeration, chilled water, air‑conditioning equipment, boilers, pumps, valves, and filters. The role requires analyzing system performance, identifying causes of malfunctions, and taking corrective action. Responsibilities also cover safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, maintaining a clean and safe workplace, learning the data‑center site to manage incidents, handling work orders through CMMS, vendor management, and customer‑facing tickets, and complying with emergency escalation procedures. • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and utility plant systems. • Perform preventive maintenance and ensure 100% uptime for fire/life safety, mechanical, electrical, and hot‑water systems. • Monitor, record, and adjust readings for refrigeration, chillers, HVAC, boilers, pumps, valves, and related equipment. • Diagnose system issues, implement corrective actions, and follow emergency escalation procedures. • Manage work orders using CMMS, coordinate with vendors, and handle customer‑facing tickets. • Maintain a clean, safe workplace and comply with hazardous material storage and disposal policies.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include at least 2 years of experience in a data‑center or critical facility, knowledge of UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgear, strong verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite, and a CMMS. Preferred qualifications are experience with Corrigo, MCIM/Salesforce, Zendesk or ServiceNow, Universal EPA 608 certification, and NFPA 70E training. Physical work conditions involve frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting a minimum of 50 lb, and working at heights using ladders up to 30 ft. The position requires the ability to work varied schedules, holidays, and to respond to site emergencies.
