About the Role

Key duties include carrying out reactive maintenance repairs, assessing and ordering parts, and completing PPM tasks such as emergency‑light testing, fire‑alarm checks, distribution board inspections and HVAC filter replacements. You will perform electrical works ranging from wiring fault finding to BMS and heating‑control repairs, and provide detailed reports and CAFM updates for each job. The role demands adherence to recognised industry standards, health and safety procedures, and company QA and site protocols. You will also respond to out‑of‑hours emergencies, assist other trades when needed, and maintain all company‑issued tools in safe working condition. • Perform reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on commercial properties. • Diagnose, repair, and test electrical systems including wiring, lighting, BMS, door entry, and HVAC controls. • Produce quotes, order parts, and record job details in the CAFM system. • Respond to out‑of‑hours emergency call‑outs and provide standby coverage as required. • Complete electrical testing, certifications, method statements and risk assessments.

What You Bring

We are recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive activities across a variety of commercial premises, ideally located inside the M25. The role requires commercial experience and a strong multi‑skilled background in building services and HVAC, with an electrical bias. It is a hands‑on position that calls for initiative, a proactive approach, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client‑facing interactions. The engineer will also be expected to produce quotes by estimating material costs and describing required works. Essential qualifications include NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, C&G Level 2 and 3 Diplomas (or equivalent 18th‑edition certification), IPAF and PASMA licences, and the 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or 2330 Parts 2 & 3 qualifications. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of commercial electrical systems, strong electrical and mechanical maintenance experience, and familiarity with heating, air‑conditioning and basic building‑fabric repairs. Additional skills such as basic plumbing, carpentry, smart appearance, excellent written and verbal communication, and proficiency with smartphones or PDAs are required. The role requires a self‑motivated, adaptable individual able to work unsupervised and flexibly, including weekends and evenings. • Hold NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, C&G Level 2/3 Diplomas (or 18th‑edition), IPAF and PASMA certifications. • Possess extensive knowledge of commercial electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building‑fabric systems. • Demonstrate basic plumbing and carpentry skills, strong communication and smartphone/PDA proficiency. • Work flexibly, including weekends and evenings, with a proactive, self‑motivated approach.
