About the Role

As an Operating Engineer at JLL you will maintain and monitor building systems in critical environments under the direction of the Engineering Manager. You will ensure continuous operation of fire/life‑safety, mechanical, electrical and hot‑water systems, applying technical expertise to analyze operations, troubleshoot problems and implement preventive maintenance. Day‑to‑day duties include maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and air‑conditioning equipment, recording readings and making adjustments, analyzing system performance to identify and correct malfunctions, and overseeing contractor activities. You will keep detailed engineering logs, follow emergency escalation procedures, adhere to the Critical Awareness Process and technical bulletins, and support the development of complex utility, electrical and mechanical procedures. • Maintain and monitor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and air‑conditioning equipment. • Record system readings, adjust parameters, and keep detailed engineering logs. • Analyze operations, troubleshoot malfunctions, and implement corrective actions. • Oversee contractor activities and ensure awareness of critical building functions. • Follow emergency escalation procedures and adhere to Critical Awareness Process and technical bulletins. • Support development of utility, electrical, and mechanical procedures and protocols.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are a High School diploma, GED or technical training, at least three years of facilities operations or engineering experience, and a 01, 07 or 06A electrical license. Candidates must have technical knowledge of HVAC and critical‑environment infrastructure, proficiency with MS Office and building automation systems, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to follow work‑management processes while maintaining a clean and safe workplace. Preferred qualifications include an Operating Engineer (BOC) license or similar, a universal CFC license (or ability to obtain within 90 days), experience with computerized maintenance management systems, knowledge of energy‑management and sustainability programs, and familiarity with regulatory inspections and environmental audits. Effective presentation skills, experience working with clients or tenants in critical facilities, and willingness to accept on‑call responsibilities are also valued. Benefits

The position is onsite in Redmond, WA, with an estimated total compensation range of $79,300 – $118,900 per year, subject to factors such as qualifications, location and market conditions.
