About the Role

• Serve as senior technical leader within a multidisciplinary hydraulic and water resources design team • Provide strategic direction and oversight for complex infrastructure projects, from small improvements to multi‑phase programs • Lead project delivery including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination to meet goals and regulations • Direct preparation and review of hydraulic design deliverables such as analyses, bridge scour assessments, drainage, erosion control, water quality systems, and permitting • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, ensuring high‑quality work through reviews and knowledge sharing • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to maintain schedules, budgets, and support business development through proposals and engagement • Advance internal best practices, participate in QA/QC processes, and represent HDR at professional forums and industry committees • Coordinated survey, grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout (plus)

What You Bring

• MS in Civil Engineering or related discipline • Experience in hydraulics or water‑resources engineering for transportation projects • Proven project leadership experience • Strong leadership, planning, mentoring, and staff‑management skills • Existing relationships with FDOT and municipal clients • Advanced knowledge of hydraulic engineering concepts and modeling software • Excellent written and oral communication skills for marketing support • Ability to work onsite in the office for collaboration • Bachelor's degree in engineering • Minimum 10 years of roadway engineering design experience • Professional Engineering license (PE or P.Eng) for the job location • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities • Desirable project management skills • Experience with urban/rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, and CAD alignment plans
