About the Role

The Consultant – Policy, Economics & Strategy will support KBR’s Strategy, Policy and Economics team by developing high‑quality business cases, economic and financial assessments, and investment frameworks for clients in water, defence, transport, energy and emerging sectors. The role involves strategic and economic analyses, financial appraisal, options assessment and the delivery of clear, decision‑ready written advice that can influence local communities and Australian infrastructure. • Develop business cases, economic and financial assessments, and investment frameworks for diverse infrastructure projects. • Conduct cost‑benefit, multi‑criteria, and risk analyses to support strategic decision‑making. • Produce clear, executive‑level written advice and recommendations for stakeholders. • Engage with clients, engineers, environmental and sustainability partners to deliver integrated solutions. • Apply quantitative analysis and translate findings into actionable recommendations. • Provide policy advice and economic reasoning aligned with investment assurance frameworks. • Communicate complex policy, economic or financial concepts to a broad audience.

What You Bring

Candidates must be Australian citizens with a background in consulting, government, economics or a related field, and experience supporting policy, strategy or investment decision‑making in the private or public sector. Strong technical and business writing skills are essential for drafting business cases, options analysis and executive‑level advice, alongside robust analytical capability and the ability to communicate complex concepts to a broad range of stakeholders. Key skills include business case writing (strategic, economic, financial, commercial), economic appraisal and cost‑benefit analysis, financial analysis and investment evaluation, policy advice, multi‑criteria analysis, risk and assurance strategies, stakeholder engagement, and infrastructure planning. Experience applying quantitative or analytical skills and translating analysis into clear recommendations is highly regarded. • Hold Australian citizenship and possess consulting, government or economics experience. • Demonstrate strong business writing, analytical capability, and stakeholder engagement skills.
