About the Role

The Sr. Project Manager leads standalone multi‑craft, joint‑venture, or EPC projects valued at $200 million or more, overseeing safety, quality, and all project controls. The role directs engineering teams, technology providers, and JV partners, and is accountable for labor, material, scope, client interaction, and execution across all disciplines while applying industry best practices and codes. The work environment involves 12‑hour shifts with hard physical labor in varying temperatures and conditions. Employees must lift objects up to 50 lb, work at heights, wear required PPE, and operate in noisy, dusty, or extreme weather settings while maintaining stamina and coordination. • Oversee and manage the full site management team, including Construction Manager, Project Engineer, Quality Manager, and Safety Manager. • Serve as the primary professional liaison with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. • Champion the corporate safety plan and develop site‑specific safety procedures and training. • Monitor schedule progress, identify productivity issues early, and propose corrective actions. • Review and approve work plans, work packages, material takeoffs, submittals, and purchase orders. • Coach superintendents on labor rate management and enforce compliance with Job Safety Analyses. • Lead job‑site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and mass safety trainings. • Coordinate material deliveries, procurement status, and overall site logistics. • Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations. • Maintain comprehensive project records, including daily reports, RFIs, photographs, and correspondence. • Develop and track project controls such as productivity, labor rates, equipment schedules, and risk logs. • Create and update the master project schedule and manage change order negotiations. • Assist the Project Manager with accounting, job costing, and work‑in‑progress updates. • Supervise 10+ direct reports and lead projects with up to 500 personnel across multiple departments. • Apply MIC health and safety programs, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings, and model safe behavior.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management and have at least eleven years of heavy‑industrial construction experience in sectors such as fossil power, mining, or heavy manufacturing. Required skills include knowledge of MIC safety programs, ability to read and interpret engineering documents, provide constructability and cost‑saving alternatives, and demonstrate strong leadership, ethics, and a passion for safety.

Benefits

The position is fully mobile, allowing residence in any U.S. city with up to 90% travel. Projects typically last 8‑18 months, and the company provides designated per diem, mobilization support, mileage reimbursement, a company vehicle or allowance, and one extended weekend every four weeks for home time. Compensation ranges from $180,000 to $220,000 with performance reviews and merit increases.
