Construction Materials Internship (Level 1)
Assist in field testing and documentation of construction materials for civil projects.

About the Role
• Observe and document field activities related to construction. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, reduce test data, and draft reports. • Use field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Represent ECS as the sole site representative. • Provide reliable transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed; relocation assistance not provided).

What You Bring
This entry‑level field role provides hands‑on experience observing construction activities, testing materials, and interpreting engineering plans while working closely with contractors and project managers. The successful candidate will gain the confidence to serve as ECS’s sole representative on project sites, with mileage reimbursement for transportation. • Pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. • Lift 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally 85 lb to waist height.
