About the Role

The Safety Coordinator will spend the majority of time in the field, auditing job sites for compliance with the company’s safety policies and communicating findings to management. This role provides safety leadership, conducts training and observations, participates in safety committee and weekly tailgate meetings, and ensures emergency response supplies are available. Additionally, the coordinator will document incidents, implement the Zero Injury System, and assist with hazard communication and site inspections. • Audit job sites daily to ensure safety policy compliance and report findings to management. • Provide safety leadership to employees and subcontractors, fostering strong safety performance. • Participate in safety committee and weekly tailgate meetings, presenting safety topics and effectiveness. • Maintain first‑aid and emergency response supplies on each job site. • Record, review, and follow up on incident reports and daily activity logs. • Deliver safety training and conduct observations as directed by the Safety Director. • Identify workplace hazards, recommend corrective actions, and document mitigation steps. • Implement the Zero Injury System and enforce company safety policies and procedures. • Conduct site inspections, testing, and oversee Hazard Communication program compliance (SDS, labeling, training). • Lead emergency response actions and present safety emphasis to site personnel.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least two years of full‑time safety experience, or five years of heavy construction experience in lieu of each safety year, and be able to read and write Spanish. Preferred credentials include CHST certification, OSHA 510/500, MSHA experience, and excavation/trenching background. The role requires a commitment to expanding safety expertise under managerial direction. • Minimum 2 years of full‑time safety experience (or 5 years heavy construction experience per safety year). • CHST certification preferred; OSHA 510/500, MSHA, excavation/trenching experience are pluses. • Ability to read and write Spanish is required.
