About the Role

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include overseeing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems specific to data‑center operations, implementing and maintaining critical environment protocols and Method of Procedure (MOP) processes, and conducting regular performance analyses of facility mechanical and electrical systems. You will also monitor system performance and ensure continuous reliability. Mechanical engineering tasks involve applying engineering principles to improve data‑center efficiency and reliability, designing cooling solutions for high‑density server environments, and enhancing airflow management strategies. You will develop comprehensive preventive‑maintenance schedules, lead root‑cause analysis for system failures, and implement corrective actions and system upgrades. The engineer will propose and execute energy‑saving initiatives to reduce Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), evaluate and integrate green technologies, and ensure adherence to industry standards such as ASHRAE and ISO as well as local regulations. Safety protocols will be overseen, regular safety audits conducted, and a team of facility technicians and engineers mentored. You will manage complex data‑center infrastructure projects, including expansions and upgrades, collaborate with equipment vendors and service providers, and communicate infrastructure status and improvement plans to executive management. What You Bring

We are seeking a Night Shift Data Center Mechanical Engineer (SME) with extensive mechanical engineering experience and more than five years of data‑center operations expertise. The role involves managing and optimizing critical systems in a high‑performance data‑center environment. Physical work requirements include lifting up to 80 lb, working from heights, climbing ladders up to 30 ft, and operating in extreme temperature conditions. Availability for call‑in work and extended duties is required. Required qualifications are four or more years of technical building‑engineering experience with strong HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair skills, as well as experience in data‑center/raised‑floor environments. Candidates must hold a universal EPA 608 certification, have CRAC (Liebert) maintenance experience, and possess at least two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship. Preferred qualifications include expertise in a specific craft area (electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, central utility plant operations, or material‑handling equipment), familiarity with building automation systems, and fire/life‑safety knowledge.
