About the Role
The Commissioning Agent will be responsible for design reviews, developing and implementing startup and commissioning policies, QA/QC of equipment installations, and creating functional test plans. They will execute tests on electrical and mechanical systems, train plant operations staff, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve issues, and produce technical reports. Communication with clients, contractors, and project teams is essential, as is managing small to mid‑size projects to meet technical, budget, and schedule expectations. • Conduct design reviews and develop commissioning policies and procedures. • Perform QA/QC inspections and create functional test plans for electrical and mechanical systems. • Execute testing to verify compliance with standards and document results in technical reports. • Train plant operations and maintenance personnel and act as liaison with vendors/subcontractors. • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams while managing small to mid‑size projects. • Work remotely with occasional on‑site travel for training and meetings.

What You Bring
BGIS is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join the team in Ireland or the Netherlands. The role involves commissioning mission‑critical center equipment such as power generation, UPS, static transfer switches, PDUs, BAS/BMS, and HVAC systems. Candidates need working knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical systems and strong customer‑service skills; experience with industrial generators, UPS, HVAC and power‑conditioning equipment is a plus. The position requires a minimum of 75 % travel, including national and international trips, and is performed remotely with occasional on‑site visits for training, meetings, or events. Applicants must have at least seven years of industry experience in electrical power distribution, mechanical systems, or both, complemented by an AA degree, military training, or equivalent experience. Five years of commissioning experience, proficiency in BCA, PECI or ASHRAE procedures, and strong skills with MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD are required. Candidates must be organized, possess excellent written and oral communication abilities, and be able to work under high‑stress conditions while multitasking and meeting deadlines. A valid passport (or ability to obtain one) and willingness to travel 75 % of the time are mandatory. • Possess 7+ years of experience in electrical power distribution or mechanical systems (AA degree or equivalent). • Have 5+ years of commissioning experience and proficiency with BCA, PECI or ASHRAE procedures. • Demonstrate strong written/oral communication, organizational, and multitasking skills in high‑stress environments. • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and familiar with building codes and industry standards. • Hold or be able to obtain a passport and travel up to 75 % of the time, including international trips.
