About the Role

• Perform accurate system start‑up, commissioning, and point‑to‑point checkout; verify alarms and annunciations. • Develop controls database, graphics, and programming sequences per design specifications. • Support installation personnel and other contractors on project sites. • Debug static and dynamic start‑up issues; resolve building operating problems beyond controls. • Contribute to estimation, design, installation, start‑up, commissioning, and training for building systems. • Produce start‑up documentation such as daily logs, checkout logs, and commissioning reports. • Ensure timely software backups for projects and development. • Troubleshoot and modify programming to resolve issues. • Inspect field components (e.g., dampers, valves) physically, using ladders as needed. • Provide service support for existing installations to maintain code compliance and efficient operation. • Complete timesheets, work orders, and required paperwork accurately and promptly. • Assist in preparing as‑built drawings and O&M manuals. • Facilitate project turnover from Operations to Service teams; support sales during estimating and demonstrations. • Travel to job sites as required for start‑up, commissioning, and onsite assistance. • Lift and carry ladders, drawings, computers, and materials; lift up to 50 lb. • Stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crawl, and climb ladders or stairs regularly on construction sites. • Work in outdoor, mechanical, or equipment rooms under varied weather and hazardous conditions.

The role is defined across three levels: Level I requires basic system knowledge and a low‑level certification with supervisory guidance; Level II consistently meets all objectives, mentors Level I staff, handles multiple special‑system deliverables, and holds a mid‑level certification; Senior level denotes highly experienced professionals with deep system expertise, high‑level certification, and provides mentorship and supervision as needed. • Level I: Achieve many objectives with supervision; basic system knowledge; holds low‑level certification. • Level II: Consistently meets objectives; mentors Level I; works on multiple special systems; holds mid‑level certification. • Senior: Highly experienced; deep system knowledge; holds high‑level certification; provides mentorship and supervision as needed. • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. • ≥3 years experience in building automation controls (HVAC/R). • ≥3 years experience in system start‑up and programming. • ≥3 years experience in panel installation and wiring. • ≥2 years hands‑on networking configuration and troubleshooting. • Basic computer proficiency. • Adaptability to diverse weather and safety conditions. • Two‑year technical or undergraduate degree in electrical/electronic studies. • ≥5 years experience with Distech, Alerton, Tridium, Disego, or Metasys platforms. • ≥5 years providing service and support to existing installations, ensuring code compliance. • ≥5 years creating start‑up documentation (logs, commissioning documents). • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Maintain satisfactory driving record for company business. • Possess accurate color vision and clear visual acuity.
