About the Role

• Develop detailed cost plans and budgets for complex construction projects • Conduct cost analysis and provide accurate forecasts throughout project lifecycles • Prepare and analyse bills of quantities, tender documents, and contract agreements • Manage procurement, including vendor selection and contract negotiation • Perform value engineering to optimise costs without compromising quality • Monitor and report project financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities • Partner with project managers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure cost‑effective delivery • Advise internal teams and clients on contractual and commercial matters • Implement and maintain robust cost control systems and procedures • Mentor junior team members and support departmental growth

What You Bring

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Manager/Project Quantity Surveyor to join our Manchester construction projects division. In this role you will lead cost planning, budgeting and financial performance monitoring to ensure project profitability and client value. You will work closely with project managers, architects and other stakeholders to drive cost‑effective delivery. • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field • MRICS qualification (or actively working towards it) • Proven experience managing costs for large‑scale construction projects • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and mathematical skills • Proficiency with cost estimation software and Microsoft Office suite • In‑depth knowledge of construction standards, regulations and best practices • Experience in contract administration and negotiation • Excellent communication, organizational and time‑management abilities • Ability to collaborate on multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
