About the Role
In this role you will drive safe, compliant and cost‑effective procurement of excavation waste, maximise recycling and landfill‑diversion opportunities, and lead early contractor involvement to deliver sustainable solutions that meet client and project needs. You will also provide technical and regulatory advice, review tender documentation, and maintain full compliance with waste‑transfer records and duty‑of‑care responsibilities. • Promote safe, compliant, cost‑effective procurement of site excavation waste (muck away) across infrastructure, commercial and residential projects. • Maximise recycling, landfill diversion and resource recovery opportunities in muck away operations. • Lead Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) processes to deliver sustainable muck away solutions aligned with client needs. • Provide regulatory and technical support on waste classification, compliance and disposal options to clients and commercial staff. • Review pre‑contract and tender documents to ensure correct waste disposal routes, classification and pricing. • Challenge specifications and propose alternative disposal or recycling routes for value‑engineering. • Coordinate with site and transport teams to maintain compliance with waste transfer notes, tipping records and regulations. • Manage and resolve customer complaints, ensuring duty‑of‑care compliance. • Support Sales‑as‑a‑Science strategy by highlighting muck away capabilities, efficiency and environmental performance. • Increase muck away service volumes via internal and approved third‑party channels. • Act as technical and commercial focal point for muck away enquiries and presentations. • Maintain service literature, pricing frameworks and disposal facility information. • Provide training on waste classification, duty of care and environmental compliance. • Identify profit‑improvement opportunities through efficient logistics, back‑loading or in‑house disposal. • Champion best‑practice standards for transport, tipping and documentation. • Promote waste‑management innovation such as on‑site segregation. • Conduct pre‑contract site visits to assess access, contamination risks and optimal routes. • Compile and submit technical data packs to meet customer and regulatory requirements. • Lead complaint resolution process to timely, compliant close‑out.
