About the Role

In this supervisory technical specialist position, the Estimator will lead the preparation of estimates, conduct estimate reviews, and oversee junior staff. Collaboration with project management, engineering, and procurement teams is essential to ensure estimate accuracy and alignment with execution plans, while also maintaining historical documentation and benchmark comparisons. • Develop detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical components, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work. • Calculate indirect costs such as general conditions, management staff, temporary facilities, equipment, markups, and contingencies. • Analyze drawings, specifications, and site data to assess constructability and cost impacts. • Prepare quantity takeoffs using industry‑standard software and determine crew build‑ups and production rates. • Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes. • Create Work Breakdown Structures, Estimate Plans, and Bases of Estimate. • Produce bid tabulations and respond to RFP requirements. • Compare current estimates with historical data and market benchmarks. • Supervise and mentor junior staff, setting goals and reviewing performance. • Coordinate with project management, engineering, and procurement to ensure estimate accuracy.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a BA or BS in engineering or construction from an ABET‑accredited institution and have at least eight years of estimating experience, with US citizenship required. Preferred qualifications include 7‑10 years of experience in industrial, heavy civil, or large‑scale commercial construction, proficiency with leading estimating software, and strong abilities to interpret engineering drawings and project controls. • BA/BS in engineering or construction (ABET‑accredited) with 8+ years of estimating experience. • US citizenship required. • Proven experience estimating civil, structural, and mechanical scopes in industrial or large‑scale construction. • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Trimble WinEstimator, ACCE, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Sage, On‑Screen Takeoff). • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications. • Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, and work breakdown structures. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
