About the Role

The Customer Support Operative inspects and remediates issues and defects in customers’ homes, working with Customer Support Coordinators to order necessary materials and keep customers informed of progress. The role requires competent use of provided technology and strict adherence to health, safety, and procedural standards. Internal applicants should inform their line manager if they wish to apply for this role. • Act as an inspiring role model delivering great customer service. • Engage with customers professionally, ensuring they feel heard and trust swift resolution. • Conduct inspections to assess remedial work requirements and staffing needs. • Perform remedial tasks across trades such as carpentry, painting, dry‑lining, and others as directed. • Keep Customer Support Coordinators updated on remediation progress. • Build collaborative relationships with other functions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. • Seek feedback and take responsibility for personal development and continuous improvement. • Identify and address gaps in verbal and written customer engagement. • Propose more efficient or cost‑effective ways of working. • Stay up‑to‑date with relevant knowledge and practices. • Remain calm, measured and resilient in challenging situations.

What You Bring

• Demonstrate positive behaviour and professionalism when interacting with customers. • Hold a City & Guilds qualification in carpentry or painting. • Work flexibly, efficiently, and reliably. • Independently prioritize work and take initiative to solve problems. • Possess a clean driving licence. • Have previous experience in the housebuilding industry. • Have experience in trades beyond carpentry and painting.
