About the Role

The Senior Roadway Engineer will engage in a diverse array of projects such as roadway and bridge rehabilitations, new road designs, interstate expansions, roundabouts, toll lanes, and intersection improvements. This position blends design, analysis, and mentorship, allowing you to lead complex engineering tasks and guide junior engineers within an expert roadway team. Key duties include performing vertical and horizontal alignment work, calculating super‑elevations, preparing grading plans, and developing permit documentation. You will also conduct detailed engineering computations, material takeoffs, estimates, and surveys, utilizing advanced software tools such as MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. • Perform design and analysis for road/highway projects, including vertical/horizontal alignments and super‑elevations. • Execute complex engineering calculations, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and field surveys. • Develop designs using MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D software. • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and procurement documents for project execution. • Coordinate across disciplines, review supplier submittals, and conduct technical bid analyses. • Generate requisitions for equipment and materials and issue detailed specifications and datasheets. • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with senior roadway engineering staff.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, possess at least eight years of highway design experience, and be a licensed Professional Engineer with DOT project background. A Master’s degree and proficiency with MicroStation, Civil 3D, or OpenRoads/InRoads are preferred, though no security clearance is required. • Hold a BS in Civil Engineering, 8+ years of roadway design experience, a PE license, and DOT project exposure. • Preferred: Master’s degree and expertise in MicroStation, Civil 3D, and OpenRoads/InRoads.
