About the Role

POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver‑CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver must ensure the vehicle complies with the company’s safety standards before operation, adhere to all company, state, and federal regulations, and complete daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to address any defects promptly. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include performing complete pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls; reporting safety issues on standard reports; and safely operating the heavy truck along a designated route to service each customer as identified on the route sheet or assigned by a dispatcher or supervisor. The driver operates manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, run the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility, while courteously interacting with customers, dispatchers, and fellow staff to ensure timely and professional service. Additional duties involve identifying unsatisfactory waste containers, tagging them per departmental procedures, monitoring waste for unacceptable material, cleaning any accidental spills according to safety standards, and continuously checking vehicle condition, including cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip. The driver completes required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports, maintains required productivity standards, follows all safety policies and the Company’s ReSOP program, and performs other job‑related tasks as assigned.
