About the Role

The manager will ensure the financial health of projects by developing projections, managing budgets, allocating estimates, and supervising invoicing and owner billing processes. They will coordinate subcontracts, supervise suppliers, and lead assistant project managers and engineers with clear assignments and training. Acting as the primary liaison with owners and on‑site representatives, they will address site concerns, handle change orders, and secure necessary approvals while maintaining schedule, quality, risk, safety, and compliance. • Supervise overall financial health of projects • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections • Allocate project estimates, determine cost codes, and approve invoices • Provide financials and billings to Accounting; create monthly owner billings • Manage subcontracts and suppliers, overseeing budget and selections • Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, assigning jobs and providing training • Serve as primary contact with owners and on‑site representatives • Resolve site issues, handle change orders, and secure necessary approvals • Maintain schedule and budget while managing quality, risk, safety, and compliance

Mortenson seeks a Senior Project Manager I to lead one large project or multiple projects, overseeing quality, timeliness, safety, and team mentorship. The role emphasizes building strong customer relationships through excellent service and requires superior written and verbal communication across all staff levels in a dynamic environment. Flexibility, inventiveness, dedication, and high integrity and confidentiality are essential for success. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or possess equivalent experience, along with at least eight years of relevant project management experience. They should be capable of managing multiple large, complex projects, demonstrate strong active listening and communication skills, and have a basic understanding of construction law and business practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project‑management tools, a positive professional attitude, strong customer service, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel up to 100% are also required. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience • Minimum eight years of construction or project management experience • Ability to manage multiple large, complex projects • Strong active listening and communication skills, open to diverse input • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management, and web applications • Positive professional attitude and strong customer service focus • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 100%
