About the Role

• Direct and manage consulting firms for permit applications, construction plans, site monitoring, and regulatory submittals, ensuring final work product quality. • Serve as primary liaison with regulators, representing WM in permit meetings, hearings, inspections, and technical conferences. • Oversee landfill construction projects, including preparation and approval of construction plans, bid processes, contract administration, and coordination of contractors and QA firms. • Manage and track capital budgets for engineering and construction projects, reporting to local and corporate management per company procedures. • Perform landfill capacity tracking, develop airspace calculations, and create fill sequencing and cell construction schedules. • Conduct site evaluations for compliance with construction and permit documents, proactively obtaining necessary permits and modifications. • Collaborate with WM subject‑matter experts to develop cost‑effective engineering solutions for operational, environmental, and compliance issues across facilities. • Provide technical expertise to finance, legal, and safety teams, delivering clear resolution paths for identified challenges. • Participate in acquisition reviews and divestiture evaluations, supporting pro‑forma modeling and due‑diligence with corporate leadership. • Mentor and supervise WM technical staff, delivering training and guidance to junior team members.
