About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent to provide coordination, planning, and supervision of assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline area. The role includes developing and enhancing customer relationships by delivering excellent service. The position is offered at two levels (Superintendent I and II), with compensation based on experience and location. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing material, equipment, and inspection support to keep projects on schedule, reviewing construction documents for completeness and constructability, and developing project schedules and site‑logistics plans in collaboration with partner superintendents. The Superintendent will coach, supervise, and develop team members, conduct orientations, site meetings, and manage hiring, training, and performance discussions. Additional duties involve proper task coding, tracking work progress, leading safety, quality, risk, and compliance efforts, and building effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. • Plan and coordinate materials, equipment, and inspections to meet project schedules. • Review construction documents for completeness, constructability, and contract compliance. • Develop and manage project schedules and site logistics, collaborating with partner superintendents. • Coach, supervise, and develop team members, including hiring, training, and performance management. • Ensure proper task coding, track work progress, and lead safety, quality, risk, and compliance initiatives. • Build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders and provide high‑level customer service.

What You Bring

Qualified candidates must hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, or construction management, or have ten years of trade experience, and possess a current driver’s license. Minimum experience requirements are five years for Superintendent I and eight years for Superintendent II, along with strong communication skills, intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency, and a basic understanding of construction law and EEO policies. The role demands detail‑oriented multitasking, a positive professional attitude, and the ability to interpret company policies. • Hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field or 10 years trade experience; possess a valid driver’s license. • Demonstrate 5 years (Superintendent I) or 8 years (Superintendent II) of construction management experience. • Possess strong communication, Microsoft Office proficiency, and knowledge of construction law and EEO policies. • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Benefits

Base pay ranges from $111,400 to $167,100 for Superintendent I and $130,100 to $195,200 for Superintendent II, with higher ranges for locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C. Compensation is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, and the position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
