About the Role

The Logistic Coordinator II role in the Building Construction Products division, located in Athens, GA, operates within the logistics department, which is actively pursuing automation projects to lower costs at the facility. The position requires independent work as well as collaboration across teams to maintain and improve engineering processes in an operations environment. In this position you will develop and maintain logistics and packaging processes, ensure SAP procedures align with standards, troubleshoot daily issues, and lead improvements that reduce costs. You will also estimate repair and installation expenses, support production across shifts, work with vendors for equipment purchases, and oversee external contractors while creating technical specifications and reporting on performance metrics. • Develop and maintain logistics and packaging processes, tooling, and equipment. • Ensure SAP processes meet operational standards and troubleshoot daily issues. • Lead customer issue resolution and implement cost‑reduction improvements. • Estimate repair, equipment, material, and installation costs for ROI analysis. • Collaborate with multifunctional teams and provide cross‑shift production support. • Procure equipment from vendors for process improvements and logistical changes. • Provide design information, review and approve proposals, and act as primary company contact. • Supervise external contractors and create technical specifications for facilities projects. • Generate periodic reports on standard operating measures. • Meet physical requirements: sit/stand prolonged, lift up to 35 lb, operate material handling equipment. • Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate with skilled‑trade personnel.

What You Bring

Basic qualifications include intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, successful completion of Caterpillar’s non‑management selection process, and a two‑year degree or equivalent experience in materials operations, packaging, or planning. Physical requirements involve the ability to sit or stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 35 lb, and operate material‑handling equipment. Preferred candidates bring 1–3 years of industrial or related technical experience, strong project‑management capabilities, SAP knowledge, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience with root‑cause analysis, stakeholder relationship building, and lean manufacturing (Green Belt) is also valued. • Demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications. • Hold a 2‑year degree or equivalent experience in materials operations, packaging, or planning. • Possess 1–3 years of industrial or related technical experience and strong project management skills. • Experience with SAP, reading engineering drawings, and root‑cause analysis. • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (Green Belt).
