About the Role

The Electrical Apprentice is responsible for operating facility systems and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment within the assigned facility. The role requires adherence to company policies, trade certification standards, and compliance with environmental, health and safety, security, and fire protection regulations. Key responsibilities include installing, overhauling, and servicing HVAC equipment, repairing components, diagnosing system issues, and performing routine maintenance. The apprentice will also conduct facility walkthroughs, monitor equipment, assist with preventative maintenance programs, manage tool inventories, and support facility‑related projects while ensuring compliance with corporate and legislative requirements. • Install, overhaul, and service HVAC equipment including air conditioning, heating units, motors, thermostats, and humidistats. • Repair, replace, and adjust worn or broken HVAC parts, valves, piping, fittings, and couplings. • Diagnose and troubleshoot heating and air‑conditioning system issues. • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems per established processes. • Respond to routine and on‑demand service requests to ensure facility uptime and safety. • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs, monitor equipment, and document deficiencies. • Assist in implementing and updating the preventative maintenance (PM) program. • Maintain accurate inventory of tools and equipment, arranging repairs or replacements as needed. • Provide observations and recommendations on facility conditions and enhancements. • Participate in facility‑related projects and ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and fire‑protection regulations. • Submit expenditure reports timely.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high school diploma, with trade‑related training considered an asset. Required skills include the ability to follow established processes, troubleshoot non‑technical components, observe and report facility conditions, maintain a strong environmental health and safety mindset, and communicate effectively.
