Job Highlights
About the Role
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards. • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances for layout of work areas. • Control traffic near, in, and around work zones. • Remove and replace track components such as ties, rails, and bars. • Slide and align tie plates. • Observe and report conditions of tracks, track beds, and right‑of‑way. • Dig holes and trenches. • Use basic hand tools (e.g., sledgehammer, pick, track wrench, spike maul) and perform tool maintenance. • Comply with all company and railroad safety rules, practices, and regulations. • Work outdoors at construction sites in various weather conditions. • Perform physical activities such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling materials and tools. • Lift, push, pull, and carry objects and equipment up to 50 pounds. • Use hands and fingers to grasp, manipulate, and assemble objects and tools.

What You Bring
• Possess 0–12 months of relevant construction experience. • Understand and follow safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations. • Maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel. • Wear required safety equipment, including safety glasses, boots, hard hat, and hearing protection. • Potentially be exposed to live track/trains, high voltage, and loud noise.
