Helper

About the Role

The Driver Helper rides on the vehicle and assists the driver in delivering prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services on a designated residential route. Responsibilities include safely loading waste, carrying bags and containers to the vehicle, and directing the driver from the ground to aid vehicle maneuvering. The helper also helps keep the vehicle, route, and work area clean. Core duties involve riding with the driver, operating the packing mechanism and levers to activate loading, and cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body after each disposal trip. The helper performs pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections, reports safety issues, and monitors waste for prohibited materials. Interaction with customers, dispatchers, and others is conducted courteously to ensure timely service while adhering to productivity and safety standards.
