About the Role
The Truck Driver operates a commercial truck to transport materials, loads and unloads products using a loader/boom, offloads rail cars, and delivers to customer yards and job sites. The driver also maintains records, permits, licenses, performs daily inspections, minor repairs, and ensures safety and DOT compliance. • Load and unload products with a loader/boom, offload rail cars, and place items in yard bunks or onto other trucks/trailers. • Deliver materials to customer yards and job sites, including drop staking. • Maintain accurate records, documents, permits, and valid licenses for the assigned truck and equipment. • Assist with maintenance of trucks, yard equipment, and support tools as needed. • Drive to destinations in all weather conditions and respond to emergency storm situations. • Verify quantities, sizes, and types against shipping/receiving tickets and ensure timely submission of signed load tickets. • Communicate delivery instructions via telephone or radio with the supervisor. • Conduct daily pre‑ and post‑trip DOT inspections of truck, trailer, boom, and specialty equipment; check oil, coolant, tires, connections, pins, and hydraulic hoses. • Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing lights, fixing minor mechanical issues, and installing tire chains with supervisor guidance. • Secure cargo according to DOT regulations. • Promote safety, DOT, and OSHA awareness in the yard. • Participate in and contribute to the company safety program. • Participate in a 401(k) plan with a 150% company match on the first 4% of deferrals.

What You Bring
• Hold a one‑year certificate from college/technical school or equivalent experience/training. • Possess 2–4 years of commercial trucking experience; experience with self‑loaders/heavy equipment and steering trailers preferred. • Maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License. • Demonstrate basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading simple words and performing arithmetic with money, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
