About the Role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shipping Supervisor manages the evening shift operations of the Shipping Department, ensuring high standards of occupational health and safety, quality, and efficiency. The incumbent supervises a team of about 10 unionized employees—expected to grow—while handling planning, work allocation, and employee engagement within a Lean manufacturing environment. • Supervise, coach, and motivate the shipping team to ensure priorities and deadlines are met. • Promote a safe work environment and ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety rules. • Manage daily workforce activities, including attendance, replacements, performance monitoring, training, and disciplinary actions as required. • Participate in the onboarding and development of new employees. • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities based on production needs. • Maintain departmental production and performance reports. • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to process optimization. • Foster a positive work environment based on respect, communication, and collaboration.

What You Bring

• College diploma (DEC) or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Transportation Logistics, or a related field. • 3–5 years of experience supervising staff in a unionized environment. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills; attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent leadership, positive attitude, good listening skills, and sound judgment. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work under pressure with high stress tolerance. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP and Dayforce considered an asset. • Good knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations. • Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written.
