About the Role

The role supports the Business Class Lead in shaping technical capabilities, developing tools and standards, assigning qualified staff, and guiding strategic business plans. You will also lead recruitment, knowledge transfer, industry engagement, and performance monitoring to ensure the business class meets its goals and delivers high‑quality outcomes. • Provide technical leadership and support to the Business Class Lead across the Waste Engineering sub‑business. • Develop, apply, and maintain technical tools, standards, and recommended practices to improve service quality and efficiency. • Assign qualified staff to projects, coordinate work‑sharing, and oversee resource allocation. • Drive strategic planning, monitor business class performance, and implement corrective actions as needed. • Lead recruitment, training, and knowledge‑transfer initiatives to expand technical expertise and production capacity. • Serve as quality assurance lead and independent reviewer for complex projects, including PARR processes. • Represent HDR in industry organizations through presentations, publications, and active participation. • Maintain professional engineering registration and mentor diverse project teams. • Embrace HDR’s inclusive, employee‑owned culture and actively contribute to its Employee Network Groups.

What You Bring

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, ten years of relevant experience, and professional registration. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and experience delivering projects across multiple market sectors in North America. HDR values collaboration, continuous improvement, and active participation in its employee‑owned culture. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a master’s degree and multi‑sector project experience are preferred.
