About the Role
• Manage design packages from concept through construction for highways, bus infrastructure and greenway projects. • Apply UK and Irish design standards (DMRB, Cycle by Design, DMURS, etc.) to deliver safe, people‑focused transport solutions. • Produce high‑quality deliverables that meet client expectations for quality, schedule and budget. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists in drainage, structures and environment. • Engage with clients, local authorities and stakeholders to navigate technical challenges and statutory approvals. • Mentor apprentices and support AECOM’s culture of growth and continuous learning. • Participate in sports and social club events to build relationships across teams.

What You Bring
The position is for an experienced Civil or Infrastructure Engineer who will join the Belfast Highways team and progress toward Chartered Engineer status. The role offers hands‑on experience across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility through detailed design, construction support and contract administration, with mentorship from senior Chartered Engineers. • Access a diverse portfolio of roads, public‑transport and greenway projects at various delivery stages across Ireland and the UK. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. • Demonstrate commitment to progressing toward Chartered Engineer status. • Possess post‑graduate experience in civil engineering, highways, public transport or greenways. • Know relevant UK/Ireland design standards (DMRB, DMURS, LTN 1/20, LTN 1/24, NTA Cycle Design Manual). • Understand contract documentation for major transport projects (NEC/Public Works Contract) and associated specifications. • Familiarity with statutory planning and design approvals in the UK and/or Ireland. • Proven ability to deliver high‑quality work packages within varied team sizes.
