About the Role
HDR is seeking a Transportation Business Development Leader to lead our Canadian program. The role oversees Canada’s transportation marketing programs, business development for major planning, design, and construction projects, and collaborates with operations, marketing, and project staff to achieve client satisfaction, growth, and profitability. • Manage transportation marketing efforts, communications, and business development with business, operations, marketing, and project staff to maximize client satisfaction, company growth, and profitability. • Develop transportation marketing operating plans and budgets, and implement tracking, reporting, and process improvements for performance indicators. • Work with marketing staff on business group pursuits and partner with Area Operations and Transportation Business Group Managers to build marketing capabilities through recruitment and staff training, collaborating on key hires and investments. • Coordinate marketing activities with Canadian Market Sector Leaders. • Develop strong client relationships and serve as a key client manager for selected clients. • Create and lead robust client management plans and support client management team meetings. • Implement company marketing policies, procedures, standards, quality assurance, and risk management within Canada. • Monitor market trends and contribute to local and regional strategic and tactical planning. • Facilitate major pursuit proposal reviews, marketing program evaluations, client feedback, peer reviews, problem resolution, acquisition integration, recognition activities, and client functions in Canada. • Participate in project pursuits, proposal reviews, program evaluations, track client feedback, and engage in problem resolution and acquisition integration. • Encourage and participate in business and community activities as a representative of HDR.

What You Bring
• Minimum of 15 years relevant industry experience. • Self‑starter with a history of completing projects with limited oversight. • Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard procurement approach for professional services. • Ability to motivate and inspire others. • Ability to build a network of clients and industry partners. • Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies. • Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. • Willingness and ability to travel and engage with others in person. • Experience writing compelling content based on information from technical staff. • Experience growing programs in new or highly competitive markets. • Experience winning high‑value contracts in the A/E/C industry.
