About the Role
The Project Director manages and coordinates projects of all sizes through design, permitting, and construction phases, providing leadership to site Project Managers and overseeing ATI staff. They hold full responsibility for project financials, including budgeting, pricing, and collection of payments, and operate with significant independence as the principal project representative. Senior and Executive Project Directors additionally mentor Project Estimators, conduct performance reviews, ensure compliance with TPA requirements, and drive continuous improvement. They also establish achievable completion schedules, manage subcontractors, oversee quality, communicate with customers, handle change orders, and resolve conflicts and warranty issues. • Review project scope to ensure clear documentation and customer understanding. • Establish project budgets that meet targeted gross margins. • Assume responsibility for pricing, costs, margins, and budget creation. • Set payment terms, including progress billings and deductible payments. • Direct Project Managers on payment terms and collection of outstanding amounts. • Collect all outstanding account receivable payments directly or via legal and collections. • Mentor Project Estimators, reviewing financial performance and providing improvement insights. • Conduct joint job walks and administer 360‑degree job reviews. • Ensure compliance with TPA requirements and maintain strong POM scores. • Conduct annual performance reviews and identify training opportunities. • Establish achievable completion schedules agreed upon with customers. • Acquire, direct, and manage subcontractors; negotiate subcontractor agreements. • Review and inspect work performed to ensure quality. • Communicate with customers, Project Managers, and A/R throughout the project. • Work with customers to complete change orders. • Prepare and complete punch list items at project closeout. • Resolve conflicts, warranty issues, and other complaints. • Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. • Participate in company‑sponsored marketing events. • Uphold all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. • Manage projects up to $250,000; senior/executive directors have no financial limit. • Train and supervise employees (senior/executive directors). • Show compassion and manage emotional customer situations promptly.

What You Bring
Project Directors are authorized to handle projects up to $250,000, while Senior and Executive Project Directors have no monetary limit and generate their own business. Candidates must have at least a high school education, five years of restoration experience, and several years in estimating or project management within disaster restoration, including specific experience with water, fire, and mold. Additional requirements include progressive experience as a Project Director and superior performance ratings for senior-level promotions. Required certifications include IICRC (all levels) and Xactimate Level 1‑3 appropriate to the role. Required competencies include the ability to work independently, strong organizational, time‑management, communication, and interpersonal skills, knowledge of water, fire, and mold trades, and the ability to train, supervise, and make judgments. Candidates must demonstrate reliability, ethical standards, multitasking ability, and compassion in handling emotional customer situations, while adhering to safety policies and OSHA regulations. • Secure a certificate of satisfaction at project completion. • Possess at least a high school education and five years of restoration experience. • Have 3+ years of estimating or project management experience in disaster restoration. • Hold 2+ years as a Project Director with excellent performance ratings (senior level). • Hold 3+ years as a Senior Project Director with excellent performance ratings (executive level). • Hold IICRC certification (all levels) and appropriate Xactimate certification (Level 1‑3). • Work without supervision and demonstrate strong organizational and time‑management skills. • Exhibit strong communication, relationship‑building, and interpersonal abilities. • Possess knowledge of water, fire, and mold trade practices and procedures. • Ability to read, interpret, and convey oral and written instructions. • Exercise judgment and act responsibly in management decisions. • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and ethical standards. • Multitask effectively and prioritize work under pressure. • Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
