About the Role
The Senior Party Chief will independently conduct field surveys and oversee all survey activities on projects of varying complexity, adhering to standard equipment, work, and safety methods. Responsibilities include serving as the site safety leader, supervising crew members, interacting with supervisors and clients, and preparing accurate daily field notes and reports. The role also requires performing in‑field calculations, preparing construction cut sheets, reviewing data validity, and maintaining survey vehicles and equipment. • Conduct field surveys independently or with crew assistance • Supervise and direct survey crew members on site • Act as site safety leader and enforce health and safety protocols • Prepare accurate field notes and daily activity reports • Perform in‑field calculations for construction stakeout and land surveys • Prepare cut sheets for construction assignments as needed • Operate and maintain survey vehicle and all surveying instruments • Use Total Stations, GNSS, data collectors, and other specialized equipment • Electronically transfer field data, photos, and forms to the office daily • Mentor field staff to support their professional advancement

What You Bring
Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED (an associate’s degree is preferred) and at least seven years of relevant experience, including two years as a crew chief or a graduate of an accredited survey program. Required skills include advanced knowledge of surveying practices and equipment, proficiency with math, geometry, and trigonometry, and strong organizational abilities. A valid driver’s license, overnight travel capability, and willingness to undergo drug testing are also mandatory. • Minimum 7 years surveying experience, including 2 years as crew chief • Pipeline surveying experience required • USCG license or five years of boat operation preferred • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel overnight • Advanced knowledge of surveying practices, math, geometry, and trigonometry • Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and participate in ongoing testing
