Associate Engineer - Mechanical
Design LV switchboard/panel mechanical components, busbars, and assemblies
Job Highlights
About the Role
The Associate Engineer – Mechanical Technician will take a hands‑on role in the mechanical design of low‑voltage electrical distribution equipment, including switchboards, panelboards and motor control centres. The position involves developing busbar assemblies, selecting enclosures and mounting hardware, and ensuring designs meet established product standards. The role also requires adherence to mechanical design technical standards and drawing nomenclature. • Design LV electrical distribution equipment such as switchboards, panelboards, and MCC/PCC panels. • Perform calculations and select busbar sizes, enclosures, and mechanical mounting assemblies. • Develop complex busbar assembly models, drawings, and BOMs for the switchboard product line. • Create special fabricated parts using AutoCAD and 3D CAD tools (e.g., Inventor) and coordinate material routing. • Release Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECR/ECO) for the mechanical team as needed. • Create and edit bills of material to ensure accurate material demand for purchased and in‑house components. • Load manufacturing documentation into ENOVIA via Plant Order Manager for internal and external access. • Adhere to mechanical design standards and drawing nomenclature for the switchboard line. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support design objectives for existing products.
