About the Role
Job Summary: Performs preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds major components on compactors and containers, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective repair or replacement. Essential duties include preventive maintenance, moderate‑complex welding (arc, gas, aluminum, brazing, plastic, soft solder), documentation in fleet maintenance software, safety checks, service calls, metal and plastic fabrication, layout and fixture development, cost estimating, quality inspection, and guidance of lower‑level personnel. In the absence of supervision, the technician may assume container‑maintenance supervisory duties, all while complying with corporate and OSHA safety standards. • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose issues on compactors, containers, and carts. • Conduct moderate‑complex welding (arc, gas, aluminum, brazing, plastic, soft solder) and metal/plastic fabrication. • Document repairs using fleet maintenance software, logging parts usage and repair time. • Execute safety checks, service calls, and emergency breakdown repairs while adhering to OSHA standards. • Estimate time and material costs, requisition parts, and inspect quality of supplier repairs. • Develop fixtures, layouts, and select optimal welding processes for custom units. • Provide guidance and supervision to lower‑level maintenance personnel. • Work in indoor gas‑plant and outdoor environments, handling physical demands and inclement weather.

Required qualifications are four years of relevant experience and a valid driver’s license; preferred qualifications include electrical, hydraulic, and welding experience. Preferred candidates have 2+ years of solid electrical experience, hydraulic repair, and MIG or stick welding. The shift runs Monday‑Friday, beginning at 7:00 am.
