About the Role
Material Handlers are responsible for moving recyclable material through the facility, performing material grading, and evaluating items for their appropriate sale destination. The role requires operating various material handling equipment, loading and securing materials for transport, using tablets to capture inventory data, and ensuring proper tagging and documentation of all items. • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, handcarts, hoists, or cranes to move recyclable material. • Load materials onto vehicles and secure them with strapping, bracing, or padding. • Use PC tablets to record part numbers, quantities, locations, and comments. • Transport materials from storage or work sites to designated areas. • Attach tags or labels and mark containers with identifying information. • Document work performed accurately. • Conduct material audits.
