Design, implement, and maintain PJM's critical network infrastructure and cloud resources.

About the Role
The position offers a hybrid flexible work arrangement and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining PJM’s critical network infrastructure that supports mission‑critical applications and back‑office systems. The network administrator will work with a variety of technologies—including Cisco routers and switches, Aruba wireless, Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls, and F5 load balancers—while ensuring the reliability of intranet, WAN, Internet, and DMZ segments. • Provide real‑time management and monitoring of network infrastructure. • Identify and resolve problems affecting mission‑critical applications and services. • Configure and maintain Cisco routers, switches (IOS, NxOS, ACI) and Aruba wireless networks. • Manage Checkpoint and Cisco firewall rule sets. • Administer F5 load balancer infrastructure. • Oversee DNS, NTP, client VPN, and IP address management services. • Implement and maintain site‑to‑site VPN tunnels. • Deploy cloud network resources using IaC tools such as Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. • Support Azure and AWS network environments. • Ensure compliance and security for all key network components. • Conduct operations and maintenance activities across all infrastructure segments (Intranet, WAN, Internet, DMZ). • Provide 7×24 on‑call support as needed. • Lead network upgrade projects, handling design, implementation, and budgeting.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, possess up to five years of relevant experience, and have certifications such as CCNA; strong analytical, communication, and Microsoft Office skills are required. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. • 0‑5 years of relevant network administration experience. • CCNA certification (required). • Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routers, IDS/IPS, and packet analysis. • Experience with F5 content switching and network protocol analysis. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept with Microsoft Office Suite. • Preferred: MBA and at least five years of experience with PJM operations or energy markets.
