About the Role

The Foundation Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery to support foundation construction for utility power projects, such as transmission towers, poles, and substations. This role ensures that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations. The position involves regular interaction with the foreman and crew, coordination of material handling, and thorough documentation of equipment usage and maintenance. Operators must adapt to varied work sites, endure rigorous physical labor, and be prepared for overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts as required. • Operate excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment for excavation, grading, trenching, and soil compaction. • Perform equipment inspections, routine maintenance, fueling, lubrication, and cleaning before and after use. • Follow OSHA and company safety protocols, attend daily safety meetings, and report hazards immediately. • Collaborate with foreman and crew to coordinate workflow, material handling, and site preparation. • Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage, hours, and maintenance activities.

What You Bring

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of heavy‑equipment experience in construction or utility projects. • Possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) and applicable equipment operator certifications. • Demonstrate knowledge of soil conditions, grading techniques, foundation requirements, and ability to read site plans. • Ability to lift over 50 lb, work extended periods in various locations, and work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed. • Exhibit strong safety commitment, teamwork, effective communication, and ethical conduct.
