About the Role

In this role you will perform a variety of tasks in a landfill environment, including containing loose refuse to prevent it from scattering and directing traffic as needed. Key duties involve manually picking up windblown paper from the landfill perimeter, operating a mobile vacuum mounted on a tractor to clean the fenced border, and directing truck traffic during heavy summer periods. You will also lift construction materials such as lumber and concrete mix, use hand tools like shovels, picks, axes and chainsaws, and separate metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard on the tipping floor. • Contain loose refuse and prevent scattering in the landfill. • Manually collect windblown paper and load it into large trash bags. • Operate a mobile vacuum on a tractor to clean landfill edges. • Direct truck traffic at the landfill entrance during peak summer periods. • Lift and transport construction materials using hand tools such as shovels, axes, and chainsaws. • Separate metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard on the tipping floor. • Meet physical demands of lifting, operating equipment, and working outdoors.
