About the Role
• Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized transmission lines safely. • String overhead wire and set poles, anchors, and hardware. • Troubleshoot transmission system problems and identify primary/secondary voltages. • Operate wire tensioners, sideloaders, buckets, derricks, and rigging equipment. • Climb poles, towers, and various structures while following safety protocols. • Install and remove mechanical jumpers, insulators, and pole framing on live lines. • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings and adhere to company safety rules. • Inspect and maintain rubber goods, PPE, and company vehicles/equipment. • Read and interpret blueprints and line clearances. • Follow minimum approach distances and obtain one‑shot readings on reclosers. • Ensure proper use of PPE and cover‑ups during all tasks. • Travel long distances on short notice and work extended periods at varied locations.

What You Bring
The Class B Lineman Transmission is a semi‑skilled role responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing electrical transmission systems. The work is performed at various locations and may require travel to other states depending on customer demand. The position involves frequent exposure to high‑voltage energized systems, requiring strict adherence to safety procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment, and the ability to conduct pre‑job briefings. Employees must be able to perform rigorous physical labor, work at heights or in confined spaces, and operate equipment such as wire tensioners, sideloaders, and derricks. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting over 50 lb, and working in inclement weather. The work environment may involve fumes, vibration, loud noise, and extreme outdoor conditions at construction sites. • Use phasing sticks, grounding techniques, and flag/tag procedures correctly. • Perform basic bucket rescue/escape and work at heights or in confined spaces. • Minimum three years of field experience with transmission lines. • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of hire (CDL preferred). • Capability to lift more than 50 lb and perform physically demanding tasks. • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and in inclement weather.
