About the Role
The role involves identifying necessary tools and safety precautions, assisting in detecting equipment problems, and helping to disassemble, repair, or replace machine parts. Helpers also perform tests to ensure smooth operation, conduct preventative maintenance on various mechanical systems, clean and lubricate machinery, and carry out basic diagnostic checks. Additional duties include using precision measuring equipment for dimensional verification, operating lathes, grinders, and files, unloading and positioning equipment with cranes and hoists, and employing rigging devices to move materials. All work follows supervisor directions and may include other assigned tasks. • Identify required tools and safety precautions for each task. • Detect and report minor to major equipment issues. • Disassemble, repair, or replace machine parts. • Perform tests to verify smooth machinery operation. • Conduct preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, valves, coils, heaters, pumps, and production equipment. • Clean and lubricate machinery regularly. • Execute basic diagnostic tests and assess equipment performance. • Use precision measuring instruments (rulers, calipers, micrometers) for dimensional checks. • Operate engine lathes, grinders, and files. • Unload, inspect, and position equipment using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. • Employ rigging and hoisting devices such as chokers and chain falls to move materials. • Follow supervisor directions and complete other assigned duties. • Commit to Zachry safety rules and values.

What You Bring
Candidates must have 1‑12 months of experience as an industrial helper, reliable transportation, and the ability to work seven days as needed. They must meet all listed qualifications, possess the required tools, and have experience on an industrial construction project while being able to meet all physical demands. Required qualifications are strong problem‑solving ability, manual dexterity, reading comprehension, effective communication, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to Zachry’s values and safety regulations. Preferred qualifications include being a Zachry ROF’ed or former employee, having prior industrial construction experience, and possessing formal or technical education. Physical requirements involve extensive standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, working at heights and in all weather conditions, and wearing appropriate PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators, hi‑vis vests, gloves, and steel‑toe boots. • Possess 1‑12 months industrial helper experience and reliable transportation. • Meet all physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lb and working at heights. • Demonstrate problem‑solving ability, manual dexterity, and strong reading comprehension. • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors; work both independently and as a team. • Preferred: prior Zachry employment, ROF status, industrial construction background, and technical education.
