Senior Pre-Construction Project Engineer (Delivery)

About the Role
The successful candidate will lead MEICA activities across multiple pre‑construction projects, mentor junior engineers, ensure design deliverables meet contractual and regulatory standards, coordinate gate‑stage approvals, and facilitate a smooth handover to the operational team. They will also manage supply‑chain engagement, produce delivery and procurement schedules, and provide a strong technical interface with the client. • Lead and support delivery teams by managing MEICA activities across a portfolio of pre‑construction projects. • Mentor and develop Pre‑Construction Engineers and Assistants. • Review design partner deliverables for compliance with contractual, design and regulatory standards. • Coordinate activities to achieve client gate‑stage approvals and meet internal governance requirements. • Contribute knowledge and best practices to MEICA forums. • Ensure smooth handover of pre‑construction work to the Operational Team. • Plan, coordinate and oversee surveys, testing and inspections supporting design development. • Act as Mechanical or Electrical Appointed Person when required. • Issue high‑quality enquiries to the supply chain and rigorously assess quotations. • Participate in client framework supplier selections and challenge constraints as needed. • Produce and review project delivery plans, procurement schedules, buildability considerations and temporary works needs. • Provide a strong technical interface with the client across Civil and MEICA disciplines. • Support programme development and collaborative planning with technical input. • Maintain high organisation, meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

What You Bring
We are looking for candidates with an HND/HNC in a MEICA discipline (BEng/MEng preferred), solid experience in water or wastewater construction, valid ISMSTS and CSCS cards, proven leadership and communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage subcontractors and multiple priorities. A professional qualification and a proactive ‘can‑do’ attitude are desirable. • Optimise Civil and MEICA technical solutions while maintaining full compliance. • Hold an HND/HNC in a MEICA engineering discipline (BEng/MEng desirable). • Possess a strong background in water/wastewater or related construction sectors. • Hold valid ISMSTS and CSCS cards. • Demonstrate proven leadership, people management and communication skills. • Exhibit commercial and contractual awareness with experience in subcontractor and supply‑chain management. • Show confidence delivering presentations and proficient IT/computer skills. • Bring a positive, proactive “can‑do” attitude; professional qualification is desirable.
