About the Role

• Assist senior staff with construction management tasks such as material submittal reviews, responding to requests-for-information, conducting site visits, and coordination with Contractors. • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation and assessment for infrastructure projects. • Assist senior staff in the production of project plans, specifications, scheduling, budgeting, technical memorandums and cost estimates. • Be involved in Civil Engineering related project aspects including studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Projects may include planning, modeling, and design of facilities such as site plans, hydraulics and hydrology, drainage design, stormwater management, water and sewer utilities, roadway, and other miscellaneous civil design projects. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, and public agencies.

What You Bring

• Experience using computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents (examples include software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS). • Experience in client management and relationship building. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills. • Knowledge of and experience with VDEQ stormwater and erosion control regulations and requirements. • Proficiency with computer-aided engineering and design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS, to prepare engineering and design documents. • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent technical experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Virginia or ability to obtain Virginia license within 6 months of joining. • 5-10 years of relevant experience in municipal, state, or land development engineering. • Effective in a collaborative group or team environment. • Ability to execute engineering best practices for civil engineering projects for a wide variety of clients, adapting to new environments quickly.
