About the Role
The Senior Residential Public Relations & Communications Manager will lead and execute a comprehensive PR and communications strategy for CoStar’s residential brands, primarily Homes.com and Apartments.com. Based in Arlington, Virginia, this senior‑level, hands‑on role reports to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and works five days per week in the office. • Develop and lead an integrated public relations strategy for Homes.com and Apartments.com. • Build and maintain relationships with national and regional reporters across real estate, housing, business, technology, financial, and consumer media. • Promote proprietary residential data, research, and insights through proactive media outreach and data‑driven storytelling. • Create press releases, market reports, media pitches, talking points, and executive briefing materials. • Secure high‑profile interviews, TV appearances, speaking engagements, and event opportunities for brand leaders and experts. • Collaborate with external PR agencies to align with brand priorities and annual PR plans. • Partner with product marketing, corporate communications, content, social media, product, and design teams to identify compelling narratives. • Work with economists, analysts, and data teams to translate complex market data into media‑ready insights. • Monitor daily media coverage and industry trends, providing analysis and recommendations to optimize strategy. • Manage incoming media inquiries, including requests for data, commentary, and executive interviews. • Track housing‑related news to generate timely, newsworthy press opportunities. • Produce 3–5 data‑driven press releases per month on residential topics.

What You Bring
• Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited, non‑profit university; master’s degree preferred. • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in public relations or communications, emphasizing consumer and industry strategy. • At least 3 years of experience focused on residential real estate, housing, rentals, or consumer marketplaces. • Deep understanding of the modern media landscape with strong news judgment. • Established relationships with reporters covering housing, real estate, business, finance, and economics. • Proven success in creative pitching and securing earned media coverage. • Experience collaborating directly with executive‑level leaders on messaging and presentations. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. • Strong analytical mindset to translate data into compelling narratives. • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Facebook.
