Supplier Quality Engineer

About the Role

The Supplier Quality Engineer will work at Honeywell’s Clearwater, FL site, reporting to a Honeywell Quality leader and collaborating daily with site leaders and peers. The role requires direct interaction with both the customer and KBR to meet quality standards and schedule expectations. Key duties include providing onsite and remote support to customers and suppliers, coordinating project schedules and requirements, and conducting tests, inspections, audits, and validations to ensure compliance with contracts and specifications. The engineer will perform source inspections, support root‑cause analysis, execute follow‑up audits, and use statistical data to monitor trends. Additional responsibilities involve maintaining and updating QMS documentation, delivering training on First‑Article Inspection, Six Sigma, and process control, and leading advanced quality initiatives such as statistical variation reduction and mistake proofing. The role also requires preparing metrics, progress reports, and status updates for management. • Provide onsite and remote support at customer and supplier sites. • Coordinate project schedules and requirements with customers. • Conduct tests, inspections, audits, and validations to ensure contract and specification compliance. • Perform source inspections and surveillance of vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors. • Support and participate in root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action verification. • Execute follow‑up audits to assess effectiveness of corrective actions. • Collect and analyze statistical data to monitor quality trends. • Maintain and update QMS documents and related content. • Deliver training on First‑Article Inspection, Six Sigma, and manufacturing process control. • Lead implementation of advanced quality processes such as variation reduction and mistake‑proofing. • Prepare and present quality metrics, progress reports, and program reviews for management.

What You Bring

Candidates must be self‑motivated, possess strong organizational and project‑management skills, and have hands‑on experience with quality assurance processes such as hardware inspection, AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports, and various audits. A bachelor’s degree in an engineering, materials, supply‑chain, or related field and at least two years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering—preferably in aerospace electronics—is required. Preferred qualifications include proven supplier collaboration, Green Belt or higher Lean certification, experience with automotive or aerospace products, and familiarity with RCCA, FMEA, APQP/PPAP, and Six Sigma tools.
