About the Role
The Senior Mechanical/Electrical (M/E) Engineer leads increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction tasks, offering expertise in estimating, scheduling, quality control, and commissioning. This role guides M/E personnel, assembles data for estimates, conducts bid analysis, and helps generate new business opportunities while providing overall management direction. • Develop budgetary M/E estimates using program and schematic designs • Review mechanical and electrical options and provide value‑engineering recommendations • Coordinate M/E scopes of work during bid and subcontractor selection processes • Create and manage sequencing requirements to meet project schedules • Identify potential quality issues in design documents and develop QC programs • Conduct job inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards • Prepare pre‑functional checklists, functional testing procedures, and verify testing results • Generate and issue comprehensive commissioning plans and documentation • Mentor less experienced co‑workers and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion • Design and implement innovative M/E tools and process improvements • Negotiate and manage subcontracts and purchase equipment from vendors • Serve as primary client liaison and represent JE Dunn at external events • Lead resource allocation, staffing, and ensure reimbursability requirements are met • Deliver effective presentations and communicate technical information clearly • Utilize MS Office, scheduling software, and BIM for project planning and reporting • Manage project budgets, maximize profitability, and foster future business opportunities • Assist marketing team with presentations and business development activities • Maintain valid, unrestricted driver’s license and adhere to safety and quality standards

What You Bring
Key capabilities include advanced communication and presentation skills, proficiency with MS Office, scheduling software, BIM, and JE Dunn’s construction M/E tools, as well as the ability to read plans, apply construction management fundamentals, and implement Lean processes. The engineer must manage budgets, maximize profitability, and build strong internal and external relationships. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or a related field is required, with 10+ years of construction management experience preferred. The position requires a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and offers professional non‑union benefits.
