About the Role
The Engineering Co‑op Student provides mechanical and/or electrical design support for new components and products as well as improvements to existing ones. They translate high‑level design concepts from design engineers into detailed part drawings and specifications, and lead testing activities while gaining hands‑on motor design experience and coaching. Key duties include performing testing to support customer inquiries, supporting manufacturing design or process change requests, and using analytical and test equipment. The co‑op works with global cross‑functional teams, participates in development projects by executing design and documentation, leads design change investigations, collaborates with mechanical design teams to create test plans, manages the 3‑D printer, and assists with documenting layout, detail, assembly drawings, bills of materials, engineering change orders, and design records. • Perform testing to support customer requests and inquiries. • Support manufacturing design or process change requests. • Operate and interpret analytical and test equipment. • Participate in development projects by executing design and documentation. • Lead design change investigations. • Collaborate with mechanical design teams to create test plans. • Manage the 3‑D printer, including loading files/materials and maintenance. • Support documentation of layout, detail, assembly drawings, BOM, ECOs, and design records.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering field with a GPA of 3.0 or above and basic SolidWorks 3‑D modeling knowledge. Strong verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, problem‑solving ability, a self‑directed work ethic, and a positive, can‑do attitude are required, along with the ability to create action plans and prioritize resources effectively. • Currently pursuing a Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering. • Possess basic 3‑D modeling skills in SolidWorks. • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
