About the Role

West Lafayette’s T&EE facilities include component, subsystem, and whole-engine test bays along with the supporting utilities infrastructure. The specialist brings depth and breadth of knowledge to maintain and operate these assets, collaborates with program teams to install and run their units under test, and leads preventive-maintenance and break-fix activities with local contractors. In this role you will shape and execute experimental testing strategy, lead capability-development projects, solve emerging technical and compliance issues, and build strategic relationships across internal and external specialist networks. You will also provide technical direction, mentor junior staff, and champion best-practice standards throughout the testing organization. • Support strategy development and execution for experimental testing of components, subsystems, and whole engines. • Lead definition and delivery of capability projects, including requirements capture, proposal creation, funding acquisition, and stakeholder alignment. • Drive development and integration of new testing capabilities. • Resolve technical, compliance, and business challenges using analytical judgment. • Foster collaborative networks and implement strategic relationships across specialist communities. • Provide technical direction, mentorship, and training to peers and junior staff. • Establish and disseminate policies, standards, and best practices for experimental testing.

What You Bring

Candidates must embody the company’s safety-first principles and possess a Bachelor’s degree with five or more years of experience, or a Master’s degree with three or more years, in a relevant engineering discipline (or a JD/PhD). U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD security clearance are required. Preferred attributes include deep subject-matter expertise, influence over key decisions, and familiarity with intellectual-property and export-control regulations. • Bachelor’s (5+ yrs) or Master’s (3+ yrs) in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Software, Controls, Systems, or Cybersecurity engineering; or JD/PhD. • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. • Proven subject‑matter expertise with ability to influence key decisions. • Safety‑first attitude and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. • Knowledge of intellectual property and export‑control requirements.
